My Silly Bloke

Updated on July 23, 2012

Where would I be without you?

There would be something I could do

I'm sure I would be okay

Going through life, day to day

Where would I be without you?

This happy me would be so blue

I would think of you when I needed a joke

Certainly, I would miss my silly bloke

Where would I be without you?

I really don't have a single clue

Days would be long, lonely and sad

No more good dreams, only bad

Where would I be without you?

Thankfully, we're stuck like glue

By my side you'll always be

Happy together, you and me

Wonderful poem. It reminds me of my dear brother. Great job.

I really like this poem. It could be a greeting card. Voted up and awesome.

Thank you so much! I tend to write quite a bit about my bloke. His name is Billy and he's been my boyfriend for 4 &1/2 years. He is amazing! Thank you for commenting!

Loved your use of the term "silly bloke"! I have quite a few of these endearing blokes in my life, and their brotherly silliness is something I'd hate to ever be without. Loved the form and style too!

Thank you for your kind words. I was reading something this morning and I saw the words 'without you' and that's where I got the inspiration for this poem. A greeting card...? That would be awesome!

I like the recurrence of your question with each paragraph. I also love the happy ending. This looks like something that would make a wonderful greeting card:) The consistency of your style would also be nice for one of those small hard cover books of poetry. We tend to over-complicate our world, and your poems remind us of a very important lesson: simplify, simplify.

The idea of life without my Beverly is not an idea I care to think about. She is the perfect compliment to my life, as is your bloke to yours. Lovely sentiment here my friend.
