My Senses

Updated on April 21, 2011

I live it

Pain, hurt and sorrow

Love with joy tomorrow

I see it

Cruelty, vengeance within

Every day somehow committing sin

I hear it

Murders, killings, another day gone by

Watching the news just makes me cry

I feel it

Darkness, Light caught in between

Collaged on canvas everything seen

I take it

Life trials, just a bump in my road

At times so precious like gold

I speak it

Truth and firm is spoken with tongue

Possibly a song happily sung

I breathe it

Pollution that hangs low above

Air, I inhale my children’s love

I like it

People and friends that add to my life

A life made into a lesson not strife

I call these my senses

Those enclose me like fences

Nothing sent to hard to deal

I take it and touch so I can feel

My senses given for me to live

A life to live so I can give

An instrument used at his discretion

As long as I learn a valuable lesson

Anything is possible for each and all

Two legs were given for me to stand tall

A head was placed for me to think

I battle my goliath in my fighting rink

I may fall and stumble on these tiny pebbles

Or disobey and stray like a heathen rebel

But the almighty knows to him I return

With dignity I carry my badges earned

For this I call my life senses

I live them with honor no false pretenses!

Bella- It has been said "Life is a helluva ride". I say "If you're going to ride, you better know how to take a fall". You my friend have taken a "Fall", and showed the world that you are worthy of the "Ride". Meaning, you have taken what might have been a dibilitating situation, and with Grace, Poise, Dignity (and your share of tears), showed you are more than able to handle the ride called life. I have so much respect for you sharing your hard fought battle back to being "whole" again. With Love, and Praise for your gentle forgiving way, -P

This is brilliant, the poem in bold from start, then finished in plain text to calmly walk away.

Pain beautified and expunged by love and lyrics. Your words choices are excellent. Oh yes dear Bella! You can write poetry.

We ebb and flow with life. my friend.

The news so sad, a painting of loss and strife, my friend.

It tears and pulls ones heart apart, and even the air does not its part.

Yet the precious gifts of light, so clear, make all troubles but armors of strength to wear.

A strength to bear a knife, my friend, a sword for which to help what's dear

"A life to live so I can give"

We stand tall together, and in case I haven't mentioned it, as Goliath steps out of the shadows to confront us, destroy us, I'm incredibly proud to be have you at my side, my dearest, warrior friend...
