My Top Five Favorite Marvel Characters

Updated on July 2, 2017

Just like the Dc comics, Marvel comics have been bringing heroes and villains of all different kinds to television and the movies. Marvel seems to be ahead of DC with a number of huge blockbuster films and a few hit T.V. series. I will admit, this list was a bit harder to make and to choose which characters would make my top five list. I have been introduced to so many more characters and became more familiar with the ones I really enjoy. As of now, I have listed my top five favorite ones. Like my DC list, the characters listed may change as we get ready to see more films and series come alive. But for now, here is my top five favorite characters that the comic creators at Marvel have made.

Number Five

The first character I that makes my list at number five is Daredevil. Becoming blind at a young age, Matthew Murdock was blind at a young age due to getting a batch of chemicals in his eyes and destroying his vision. As a result from the radioactive chemicals, Murdock's other senses become highly enhanced beyond regular human ability. Growing up in Hell's Kitchen New York, Murdock's father is killed by a local group of criminals who cause havoc in Hell's Kitchen. When Murdock becomes old enough he begins to seek out revenge upon his father's killers. He becomes the blind vigilante, Daredevil and starts taking out thugs and villains that terrorize his city. Equipped with fighting skills and array of weapons, Daredevil begins to get his revenge with success. Although the first Daredevil film was a bust, the Netflix original series has given hope to the success of this character and is one of my favorite series with a comic book character in it.

Number Four

Coming in at number four is the wise-cracking, vulgar and hilarious Deadpool. We were introduced to Deadpool character on the big screen in the film X-Men Origins: Wolverine. Now many years later and after numerous tries, we were finally blessed with a stand alone film that quickly became one of Marvel's most successful releases. Known more as a anti-hero than a hero, Deadpool grabbed fans attention rather quickly after the character hit the big screen. Wade is diagnosis with a cancer that cannot be treated. Just after getting everything he wanted in life, Wade is hit with the horrific news. When contacted about a highly secretive procedure, Wade decides to agree to become a test subject. As a result, Wade obtains a super healing power that allows him to repair himself rapidly. He also becomes a highly train assassin and mercenary. He is known for mainly having weapons such as guns and swords.

Number Three

Probably the most popular and favorite character of the X-Men series, Wolverine comes in at number three on my list. Logan is a mutant who also later becomes the subject of a highly top-secret military experiment. His mutant abilities are animal instincts, physically enhanced strength, about to heal himself quickly and three retractable bone claws in each hand. As a result of the military procedure, his bones are replaced with an indestructible metal that replaces his human bone structure. Wolverine his a tough as nails character with a past full of tragedy and pain.

Number Two

At number two and one of the more popular and loveable Marvel characters is the patriotic hero dressed in Red, White and Blue. Captain America makes my list at number two. Steve Rodgers wants to help his country during the famous World War II. He lacks physical strength and physique, but has the heart of an All-American hero. He is recruited to take part in a Super-Soldier project that could give him the abilities that he has always coveted. After Rodgers takes the special serum, all of his abilities are enhanced. The serum gives him advanced human strength and speed, as well as makes him a better fighter in the midst of combat. Armed with an indestructible shield, Captain America fights his way to becoming America's top favorite soldier. He would later lead the infamous Avengers team once being thawed out after being frozen for several decades.

Number One

Number one made the list and has been my favorite since I was a kid. He is my favorite Marvel character and I do not really see that changing anytime soon. After many film appearances and television spots, Spider-Man makes my list at number one. Peter Parker, the nerdy kid in class with high intelligence, gets bitten by a genetically enhanced radioactive spider. The result from the spider bite gives parker a few non-human powers and abilities. Super strength, spider-sense, enhanced agility and many characteristics of a spider, Spider-Man is born and becomes one of the most popular characters ever to be created. With these new found powers, Parker becomes the hero that the city of New York needs. The web-slinging crime fighter will once again grace the big screen in the new film Spider-Man: Homecoming which critics are saying is the best Spider-Man film yet.

Which Character Is Your Favorite

See results

Well, again this list was a bit harder to created given the multiple characters that have been introduced in several big budget blockbuster Marvel films. These five characters will have some competition has Marvel is already in phase three of movies. With many more films and series set to be released this list could change sooner, rather than later. But as of now, these are my favorite Marvel characters. I am truly excited for the new films that will be coming out. My inner nerd thanks Marvel for bringing such entertaining and loveable characters to the world.

I couldnt decide on a favourite but I went w Deadpool for the quizz because I thought Wolverine would naturally be more popular. Not according to the results lol. I loved the movie. I didnt know he appeared in Wolverine themovie and now I want to go back and watch it again. Ive not read the comics, Im unsure how accessable they are to buy but I like reading novs behind movies and if time grew on trees Id start reading comics too.
