My Yearning- a poem

Updated on July 13, 2013

My Yearning

By Tony DeLorger © 2011

My yearning pools around me,

like tears of angels spent,

divinely patient,

ever vigilant,

but love unfound

is a tragedy of life,

a miscarriage of right.

The touch of consolation,

bares no reprieve,

no stilling of heart,

just the reminder

of loss before gain.

My heart,

glowing with possibility,

is beaten by time,

ravaged by

the tender memories

of past love,

ever longing for freedom,

and the filling

of empty places.

I rest in waiting,

a vessel,

brimming with

the potential of life’s gift,

a loving embrace,

a compassionate smile,

and the touch

of a souls recognition.

find me again.

This aptly captures the idea of love... a longing, a yearning, a desire, a hunger... it was beautiful. You could check out my poem at Thanks!
