My few

Updated on June 20, 2015

Planning my part in this life is like looking for bird seed in the ocean,

As I go through the motions, and hold on while these waves batter my body like a ball of emotion,

Placing my hand in the water as my body goes into coasting,

After all that chaos, my few spirit left falls short of devotion,

And when my thoughts pour back in me, the static surges into my heart for life,

and my few hope regains passion mixed with safekeeping of love to give as my sacrifice,

Not twice have I thought of how few I receive, but more than life I have taken a dive into this wildlife,

My few pain will go away when I allow love to arrive,

I can see my few when I reach out, but no one extends aid my way,

My few is my few, and what am I to do when I float away, will I be met half way,

In these days of dismay, I will lay with the waves, love will find me some day,

In this waterway of few.

Very deep thoughts here, Kelvin - deep like the ocean. The man in the poem has placed himself on the waves, like a message in a bottle. He actually becomes the bottle as his thoughts are the message inside the bottle.

Looking for love is often a very difficult thing - we cannot always find it when we need to be loved. Love is mysterious and finds us when we least expect it. Love is shy and runs when we reach for it. Love is clever, intelligent, and appears when the time is right, not when we demand it. Love is elusive till the right two people come together.

The best we can do when seeking love is what the man did - send out the message and let the Universe work with it.

Very good poem. Voted Up, B, I and H+

It sounds as if he is going to commit suicide. Or else he is searching for a perfect love and cannot find her right now. Interesting Kelvin. I voted it up, shared and pinned it.

Thank you very much, and yes there is a hint of sadness.

I sense a sadness in your words but it is still a very touching and beautiful expression.
