My Friend (Poem)

Updated on May 29, 2016

You speak to me of streams that fill my view

How lightly spoken words, amidst such call

We melt in silent passions shared by two

Amidst unmentioned truth, ere we must fall

Again we meet in hope to ease our pain

Of all the sighs that passed our way today

What gentle friends the blind sing in refrain

But to the silent truth we dare not stray

To think my strength gave pathway to my heart

No reason there its need for childish larks

It beats away two friends that soon may part

Still here I stay to face its tempting arts

Pray please, my friend, take this my faithful hand

Perhaps together we might understand
