Name that Novel! (Now that's a novel idea!)

Updated on February 22, 2013

A Novel Is Emerging...

Hub Pages has been such an encouraging community--I want to share my BIGGEST project yet! I'm working on a novel (based on testimony and real events) about a woman's life after death. I don't want to give too much away--but I'd love to share a few snippets with you because:

1. I'm excited!

2. I value the feedback of the Hub Pages Community (would you vote at the end?)

3. My new baby needs a name! And I'm stuck...

Would you take five minutes to read a few excerpts and vote using the two polls at the end? Just click a button to tell me if the story catches your interest and vote for the title you like best!

If you have any additional comments or ideas for a title, please feel free to leave in the comments section. If you'd like to stay up-to-date on the release date for my novel, you can visit my webpage HERE.

Thank you so much for your support!

Excerpt From Chapter 1

...But as I watched my life play out before me on a screen that seemed to have been made of thin air, it was as if I absorbed a knowledge about my past that formerly was not on my grid of awareness. It was like watching a 3D movie from multiple perspectives. Not only could I see and hear what was happening, but I also experienced the emotions of each person involved. I realized what I had thought were isolated segments in my life were actually interwoven threads of a grand tapestry.

As I hovered in a realm somewhere between this dimension and the next I sensed that I was not alone. I felt an overwhelming presence of lightness, freedom, and love. I was aware I had died, but I’d never felt more alive. It seemed as if everything before death was only a shadow—a dream...

Excerpt From Chapter 5

...For the first time since I’d begun my ascent upward, I was more interested in the light beings than in my life review. They looked human-like in some ways: eyes, nose, mouth, hair. They were all much taller than me, but their heights differed. The tallest light being appeared to be about ten feet tall. He was muscular and reminded me of a war general. Two others looked to be about seven feet tall. They too were built of a strong stature and wore the same serious expression on their faces that the tallest being exhibited...

Excerpt From Chapter 6

...But this time I could see that he was not alone. He was surrounded by a dark cloud of shadow beings. I could not make out their specific form, but I could see their red, glowing eyes and mouths with tongues that resembled that of a snake. The shadow beings were hissing and crawling upon each other. At first I could not understand what they were saying—they were all whispering at once...

An Excerpt From Chapter 10

...His curls flapped in the wind as he, Mama, and the other light being sped through the darkness. He didn’t know what the speed of light was, but he knew this was faster! Josh could feel himself being drawn upward by some invisible force, only the source was more than a power—it was personal.

“We must be going a million miles a minute!” Josh exclaimed. He had never experienced such exhilaration. Josh noticed they were approaching a bright sphere of light. He presumed it was the earth’s sun.

“We’re in space?” Josh exclaimed. Josh could feel the sun’s intense heat as they drew closer. If on earth, he would have surely burned to a crisp. But Josh had no fear of burning. He could feel the heat, yet there was no pain. Josh stared at the great ball of fire. It’s intensity was great, yet Josh was not forced to look away. His eyes were—different...

@Anna Haven: Thank you! I'm eager to share more--but don't want too give too much away out of context from the whole. To date, I think this is the most exciting project I've worked on. Especially since its based on over 100 case studies of actual testimonies! I appreciate your feedback.

Sounds interesting and creates questions. I especially liked Chapter five, I thought your wording created a good, strong visual image of the lightbeings and their appearance and character.
