Nature's Power (poem)

Not unlike the waves of an unleashed ocean,

With the same force anyway,

You entered my heart

And lingered there,

For me to appreciate you,

For me to miss you

When you're not around,

For me to rejoice

When we meet again,

For me to feel

Happy and contented

When we hold hands and embrace.

Not unlike a tropical wind,

And with the same intensity,

You crawled under my skin

Without even trying,

Invading my thoughts,

Breaking my concentration,

Blowing my mind

Beyond any logic,

Beyond any reason.

And all I can think is

I wouldn't have it any other way.

Not unlike a tornado,

With a comparable power,

You sent my world spinning

Into a whirlwind never experienced before.

Getting lost in your eyes

Or a touch from your hands

Sends jolts down my spine,

And one look at your face

Makes me beg the question :

How could such a grace

Possibly dance my way ?

Not unlike a dream

You are part of me at all times,

And I don't want to let go

Of the thoughts of you,

Of the visions of you

That occupy my mind

Ever since I met you.

My defenses are down,

And come to think of it,

They never went up for you.

That's how much I trust you,

That's how much I care for you,

That's how much it's becoming hard to conceive

A life without you in it...
