Poem: "Parents" Never put off for tomorrow. That which can be done today!

Updated on December 7, 2011

Never put off for tomorrow

That which can be done

I would never

How kids

of any generation

Could grow up

Ending up

Being worst off

Human beingS

Than their parents.

I would not ever

How parents of

Any generation

Could allow

To be fooled

By some notion

The they need

To cut their kids

More slack

Than their parents

Gave them.

Who are these?

The guardians

Or the spoilers.

I think they are

the guardians

Who knows not

The way to be

in charge

As seem by those

Measures they

are displaying

For being guardians

Before their time.

Now prompting

To then opt to

That they had not

Seen in advance

The signs that

Those things

Were coming

Every other specie

In life

Sees it necessary

To quickly

These types

of rogue

At the moment

They appear

These lesser specie

parents knows

That they are not

They would hone in

To weed it out

Without any doubt

That's to the

ensured survival

Of that particular

Here we are

At the top of

The wisdom chain

The food chain

The love chain

The hate chain

Even the chain

That once binds us

That we would

Forcibly learn

We have broken

Then all

Look to which

Our specie

Have now SUNK

every child

Was guarrenteed

a right of

Through childhood

Now a child

grows and

surpasses their

Parents first?

These parents

Seems to all be

From some type

Of guilt

They think

By placing

Blames on

their own

After growing up

In that delightful

Just to take

their acquired

Weakness to sex

And all the other

that leads up

To pregnancy

Things not shown

to them

by their parents

To pass the blame

That ludicrous!

Whatever environment

One grew up in

It was destined

It was the very best

For you

You are the ones

Who are supposed

To see the reason

For which you were

Placed there

So that you could

Have risen from

The mire and the mud

Obtaining the best

Overall experience

To which you are

Now able to teach

Your kids

The truth of Life

Most recently

I had to pick up

The rear

And do so with

Great pride

Courage to

Stand and say

I heard some

They kept on

Making excuses

Like a disease

That their

child did

Like clockwork

It was forgiven

And excused

Now I am

seeing children

in control

They have more

negative input

Advice and control

In every area

Than the parents.

Looking at parents

Who seems to be

Playing a losing

catch up Game.

In which

the only role

is a possible

Body guard

For excuses

It is not about

and the gifts

It is about those

Upcoming realities,

The possibilities

That parents

usually gathered

from their parents

And through

That in times

like now

They are able

To guide their

Instead of

Helping them

over life's

Bumps and cliffs

Towards that

impending demise.

Which everyone

Fears the most

as the ultimate

So you must

Never put off for

That which you can do today...

Thanks you Eddy there are some beautiful connection, it's incredible .I was only just discussing that very same chapter in my book with the editor by e/mail and not only that last night I spoke to my mother and she told me that she loved this one . I sent her quite a few pieces by mail. I smiled when I saw

What a great hub Sky again full of truth; I loved it and also the song.

Much of the world seems to have gone astray;we see it more and more all the time.

Youngsters growing up thinking that boundaries are meant to be disobeyed;they mean nothing.

The way it should go is parents/child and not child/parents.

Up up and away Sky;I am going to look through much of your older work.

Take care my firend and have a wonderful weekend.

Thank you "AE" Always a pleasure sharing with you. Yes dear lady that's where the problem is most shameful , how hard can it be to do some which was basically been instilled in you , and hear this .

If you know you are a great or even just a good person, then show your kids that same way it works.

Now if you think you are a bad person and that your parents did not do a great job with you, well here is your big opportunity to show the world and yourself just who you are and how good a parent you could be.

But when you are good , but your child/children are bad. Then whose fault is it.

This should be a win win situation, all across the board.

Another great hub Sky. Some people were not meant to be parents, but having said that, when the parents were good and raised you the very best they could, then you disrespect them, as many do today, is a shame. Thank you for sharing...

Thank you so much North Wind. Possibly made my day, in just those few words.

You have described one of the books I am presently writing.

      Especially hearing you say:

"behaviors that were once rogue are now the norm."

Because I have seen and witnessed this on so many fronts.

I know for sure that every generation blames the one before, but when people look at themselves, I sometimes wish that the mind of man was one in which the truth was predominant ,and lies came at a much more physical cost, than only a brand name.

I am not requesting that time be rolled back to yesteryear. I am only requesting that we as humans take a look at the past with our parents , how they took everything and turned it into gold for us. Hard work, vegetables , training , seriousness, fun , and the governing factor was : WE ALL love our parents. Now I am watching parents trying top but what is theirs already.

Parents have to beg their own kids to wash the dishes that they themselves dirtied.

Most kids think that parents are waiting on some money only from them.

      I can write forever here.

But I sincerely thank you for being able to see clearly and still show love in the process, because that's what it will take to understand this major problem and start doing something about it.

The future is looking grim for parents.

      Bless and Give thanks.

Great final stanza: "You must never put off for tomorrow that which you can do today." Brilliant. I enjoyed reading this, it's very well put together.

      Keep writing!

Great poem! I agree with you completely. Too many parents do not put an effort into raising their children to be upstanding citizens. People who contribute to society positively. Many children do control their parents and the behaviors that were once rogue are now the norm.
