New Thoughts Come And Go

Updated on August 6, 2015

Do You Hold On To Them Before They Flee ?

Here you are doing things

It could be throwing in a load of dirty laundry in the washer

Eating breakfast

Washing the dishes after breakfast

Sleeping in bed

Playing with your pet

Food shopping at the grocery store

Getting gas at the gas station

Talking on the phone to a neighbor

Watering the grass

Busy at work

Listening to music

Taking a morning walk

The list goes on and on

Suddenly a thought

The littlest of all thoughts

One so small it would almost go unnoticed

Unless you're careful enough

To take the effort and write it down

Part of you will say don't worry you'll remember it later

Through experience I learned it's not the case

So many times an idea comes and flies away

As fast as a plane in the sky

Leaving no trace

A few times you might get lucky

The thought might come back for a split second

You are one of the fortunate ones

Now it is your chance

To give your thought a home

It came to you for a reason

It's up to you to decide what you want to do with it

You can put it in a book and watch the idea grow

Adding to it everything that you know

You can leave it on the page and never do a thing

You can make a list and put all your new ideas together

Then one day you might see that idea somewhere else

Don't be surprised if you say

I thought of it first

Someone else may carry that idea really far

Ending up to be quite successful

You may think many times and repeat your story over and over

To anyone that will listen

Yes it's true

That could of been you

Your life would of changed forever

Don't worry or stress over an idea that is lost

Now that you know where these ideas come from

You also know how to grasp them

Holding them firmly but not too tight

They have to breathe

Good luck to those people who take an idea to fruition

Wish them well

I believe where there is one idea there are many

I plan on tapping into ideas for everything

You could call it an idea network

Some day where we can all share our ideas together

The time maybe wasn't right

You really weren't that interested in the idea at all

I like to talk and write about ideas often

You never know where they might lead

It might be a story for a new novel

A simple tip to make things easier

A way to remember things that you love

A fancy new look

A way to make house cleaning a breeze

Maybe just maybe all of the above

So as you go on with your day

A quick flash

An instant thought

Yes a quick idea comes your way

That's what I'm talking about

What will you do ?

Share it with the world or let it ride off into the sunset

Gypsy Rose Lee You have mastered the art. I can learn from you. I write new thoughts on tiny pieces of paper all the time.unfortunately life gets busy and sometimes these thoughts are lost or incomplete. I can say I have tried but each time I say one day I will have uncovered the secret to capturing all my thoughts on paper. I have used an old cassette tape recorder. Now they have digital recorders that work great. Thank you for reading and sharing your story. I think of life as a lemon and I try to sqeeze all the zest out of it.

When I am at my PC I always have my faithful journal by my side into which I jot all of the immediate thoughts. When I am out and about I also take a long a small notepad and do some jotting. I don't want to miss a thing.

annart I have seen so many ideas drift out to sea. I think I am a sailor who got stranded on an island. We can have fun and joy out of all our ideas. I think it is our subconscious trying to tell us something. I would love to hear if you get any new ideas? Today it's was a simple thought to laundry in and laundry out. I leave a clean sock on the table as a reminder. I could use an alarm clock but I rather keep my mind sharp doing many things at once and see if I can do them all. My sock triggers my mind why is it here ? Oh now I remember. I can easily get involved into so many projects around home. Thank you for reading and sharing. May each day be filled with many new ideas flowing.

Always a good idea to write a passing idea down before it flies off somewhere else! Good advice to either act on it or commit it to paper before it's too late. Fun poem.
