No Cure

Updated on June 26, 2011

No Cure

By Tony DeLorger © 2011

Hell-bent on right and changing worlds,

I toiled and taught my flag unfurled.

Gave all to those whose needs weren’t met,

of mind and attention I did not get.

Seduced I was to the many games,

that people play there lives to gain.

For what they crave is not help at all,

but someone like me a sounding-board.

Their pain and addiction is put in place,

a self-professing life they’ve made.

A victim stance is all they want,

to whinge and complain and rely upon.

No help no cure is meant for them,

a manipulation of life does stem.

They drained my soul and spat me out,

for all my help and attempted clout.

You see some people just like to be,

the victims of life with no remedy.

Their focus is all that they have got,

they believe it there’s and worth a shot.

Through pity and kindness from souls like me,

they flourish and live their noxious dream.

Privy to all that good souls give,

never taking responsibility to live.
