No Motives

Updated on February 8, 2015

No witnesses,

no motive,

yet, a sixty-five year old woman

was grabbed, stabbed

and kicked to the floor,

and then stabbed some more,

the terror would stream,

and the pain was too much for her to scream,

just like a bad dream,

and then, it would seem,

even while dead,

she was shot in the head

at close range,

it was a killing so strange,

and the murderer had to be deranged,

in that the detectives were sure,

taking a life so pure,

as the crime scene was secure,

evil remained faithful to sin,

it was such a meaningless murder,

how can life ever win?

The old woman was on her back,

there was no way she could

have fought off the attack,

she was going to die

and she knew it,

no matter how much she would try,

she would not have been alive,

as the paramedics pronounced her at 5:00.

I know this goes on in the world and I find it very sad that human kind can be not so kind at times. I hope one day we can all get past negative aggression. It's a great reminder, Frank, to make positive changes in this world.
