No Room for Me

Updated on April 24, 2012

This place seems full

up to the brim

of relations and friends

already in place

talking and whispering

pats on the back

high-fives through and through.

Quietly I sit

alone in my space

ignored and left behind

no associates to confer

cheerleaders all taken

banished to a pillar of toil

shunned as the unfavored one.

I have nothing to contribute

every thing has been discussed

you’ve made up your mind

sealed the deal

no room to squirm

or establish myself.

Seemingly content

to push all others aside

stagnant fate awaits

growth and strength but a mirage.

Very good poetry expressing that "in group attitude" well.

I feel my poetry that I write may express whatever emotions I have whether or not they are negative or positive. That is poetry. And to me poetry is always a good thing to have in life.

Thanks everyone for your support. I was feeling down when I wrote this poem and just writing how I was feeling in the moment was some great therapy. Sometimes I feel left out at work and get sad. Poetry lifts my soul and helps me express my emotions that goes beyond what I can articulate out loud.

I totally feel this way when I am at a social event! I certainly do hope that this changes when I grow up :) Voted up!

I'm in the dark as far as what your motivation was for this poem but it instantly reminded me of me when in a social situation, especially when I was younger. I simply could not socialize and I always felt alone in a crowded room. Great hub!

What a sad state of affairs. Doesn't sound like much of a life or good time to me.

Despair is a downer, especially when it concerns relationships. It is good to express grief to get it out, but then remember that you are somebody with value, and move on. Great reflections on this hub.
