Nocked On My Butt Once More

Updated on September 22, 2010

Get Up Get Up

Where the sand meets my body

Then the wave splashes with such tremendous power

I get pushed down and then rolled around

Yes you may think I am clowning around

I go to get up and down I go again

The next wave more powerful than the one before

I try to get my balance and with little help from my useless hands

The wave tosses me back in the sand

I am no match for natures power and fury

A rag doll tossed to and fro

That is me swollowing the next gulp of water

I fight to catch my breath

It is hopeless when the water hits my chest

I stumble and fall

I laugh as I take an unexpected dip

If the water will reside just for a moment I can get my chance

I can rise again and hold on to land with my two feet

Balancing myself and digging in with my toes where I stand

Holding my hands out high to keep steady

I will restrain myself not to fall

I think I have figured out a way

So I can resist the next wave

I take a deep breath just incase I go under

Here it comes I hear the crash and the loud thunder

I am standing here still untouched and unscathed

The wave has circled my feet and rushed through me as if I was invisible

Anyone else would of been bouncing like a bobber in the water by now

Watching their body tossed like a salad up and down

Lesson learned as their eyes bulge out from under the salt water

Watch the wave closely and never take your eye off it

Even at the very last moment

Be prepared for when the wave impacts with your every limb

Be centered and balanced is the key

You may let some waves nock you down

You may try and try again

Only to be left gurgling and cursing underneath

Take a moment and relax

Gain your composure and reassure yourself with great confidence

Through lifes many struggles you will keep getting dunked many times without notice

Like a sneak attack from the back

Even when you think you were ready

You weren't and down you go again

When you finally master a technique that can keep your head above water for good

It works everytime

Now you can teach others so they will know

I found this way through years of trial and great effort

The secret is ........

Wait long enough till the tide goes out and you will be left standing tall

Some battles you will loose

You have to pick and choose which ones you want to take a stand against

And in the end you might be left standing

Not because you are stronger or smarter than before

Simply put you got lucky and things somehow someway worked out

In the end you can shout from the top of your lungs

I have beat the unbeatable

I am my own champion of champions !

I will sleep good tonight knowing I never gave in

I kept resisting no matter what

I have it deep inside of me

To take all my struggles and turn them into sand

And let them cover my feet

I really related to this, it was brill. I like the thought that we choose our own battles. Sometimes we seem to battle through everything, it does not have to be that way ...... it really does not. Thanks for this

Amez thank you so much for your thoughts.I feel in life we all struggle from time to time. When we do we often feel we are the only ones.I turn to nature to find a way out.Sometimes I just find a way of dealing with life and a reason to keep trying. When I go in the water I like to think of the waves as my obstacles I can't seem to handle. How can I face the challanges I have ahead.Enjoy your day. Dim Flaxenwick I really wish I could wash those thoughts away for good. But then the next wave comes in and here we go again.Don't worry you should of seen the waves I had yesterday.Love and peace.

After reading to the last few lines, I really wasn't sure if I was reading abot the actual waves, are they were used to demonstrate what might work in taking on the strides in life and still feel good about your self at days end. I liked it. Makes you stop and ponder abit just how one does or doesn't look at life in a simular fasion as you just shared. 10 hugs
