Nuffnang Is Asia's Next Google Adsense Alternative

Updated on September 27, 2012

Nuffnang is a blog advertisement community and in Malaysia itself, Nuffnang ads are seen by 2 million Malaysian daily. Nuffnang is very famous especially towards Asia for both bloggers and webmasters. To many Asian, Nuffnang is the next Google Adsense alternative. As it is challenging to get Google Adsense approved, many of us turn their attention to Nuffnang as it is free and you can get your blog or website approved within a day and you can immediate earn money with Nuffnang. Currently, Nuffnang is available in 6 Asian countries which are Malaysia, Singapore, China, Philippines, Australia and Hong Kong.

I love Nuffnang!

Nuffnang is the best and leading blog advertising company in Asia! Kudos to them.
Nuffnang is the best and leading blog advertising company in Asia! Kudos to them.

Million dollar question: Should I get Nuffnang?

Well, the question lies where should you actually get or place Nuffnang banners on your website or blog? Be reminded that the more banners you have in your website, the higher the chance your site will be labelled as ‘ad rich website’. Of course, no search engine likes content less website.

Deciding factor for using Nuffnang

The first and foremost will be your audience. Basically ask yourself these questions:

  • Where is your majority of visitors come from?
  • What are the topic that you write and might interest them?

Nuffnang is the leading Asian advertisement blog and that is undeniable. However, due to the fact that Nuffnang targets highly on Asian countries, you might lose a big chunk of ad click chance and revenue if you have visitors from other part of the world. Again, there is nothing to worry about this as you can easily place advertisement rotator plugins on your site. Taking me as an example, I only place Nuffnang ads about 5% chance for showing up as about three quarter of my visitors are out of Asian countries.

Besides that, I personally felt that you could better off with ad programs such as Adbrite and Bidvertiser as I felt the ads on Nuffnang are very limited. Easily on one day, I could see roughly a mere two to three ads rotation compared to others where it comes with quiet a huge amount. This will certainly affect one’s website or blog earning as with the limited number of ads, the area of coverage of visitors will be lesser.

Before I bore you down with more facts, an excellent story on Nuffnang on Youtube

Let's continue to the advantages of Nuffnang

The best thing about Nuffnang is that since it is focus highly on Asian countries, personal blogs with a good focused market could easily perform well compared to others. Ads were based on Asian’s ‘liking’ and thus having a high chance to boost your online earnings. Not to forget, application at Nuffnang is much easier and a shorter review time is needed when compared to Google Adsense and others advertisement companies.

Are you a glitterati member?

See results

Nuffnang also focus on elite member

Nuffnang elite members are also known as glitterati. Glitterati is a group of blogger and website owners who has a upper hand when it comes to advertisement publishing and during most times, the site is offered with high paying advertisements compared to others. This means that chance for a higher pay per click will be better off.

In order to become a glitterati member, you got to make sure the websites and blogs you have submitted is free from advertisers from local companies in Asia. In other words, you will be selected to be a premium member for Nuffnang if there is no 'competition' from other advertising company in Asia. What happens if you have? Then, you will be reverted back to basic member. Nuffnang crawlers will be crawing the site once every four days and there is no application to become a glitterati member. Once the crawler has determined your site is good, you will automatic be upgraded to the premium member.

Simple form of my verdict

Personally, I would highly recommend Nuffnang ad program to those bloggers and webmasters who have a huge demand on Asian countries. However on contrary towards the public site, going for other ad program will certainly be a better choice when it comes to earning money online. One thing that you should know is that Nuffnang does not encourage their members to use Google Adsense (the reasons are pretty straight forward right?) but using both Adsense and Nuffnang ads on one page is not against the rules. So, if you have one spot left, consider nuffnang as you might just get the extra bucks!

Lots of good info here but not much use if you are based outside of their footprint? Any idea when they will roll out globally?

All competition is good as it improves efficiency and that can lead to more for all good contributors.

Thanks for the share keep it up and please let us know when they are available in other territories.

    Dear whoisbid,

Yes got to agree with that. Google AdSense is the market leader and will definitely to stay for sometime. However, to certain countries, it would need to work 'harder' a little due to competitions and yes, more pay or is better!

Google adsense have a ton of money. If they want to increase commissions to webmasters, they can do it easily. A lot of webmasters feel they are not being paid enough for their work. If enough competition comes along it will be good for everyone because Google will have to end up paying more to people.

They were separate and Double click was placing cookies, which peeved Google. Google adsense and double click are now owned by Google. I don't use adsense, so I have no problem with the crap they pull on closing accounts, cheating people out of their money, etc.

    Hi LindaSmith1,

Nice to know. So it's by Double Click and then Google as top tier :)

Nonetheless, thanks for the info. Something new for me. Appreciate.

    Hi LindaSmith1,

Not sure where you got the info but if you go to Adsense website, see the bottom part and it shows @2011 Google. From what I understand, that is the copy right part. Also, never heard about double click before.

    Hmm. Thanks for sharing though.

From what I understand, Google Adsense is not Google. It is owned by a company called Double Click.

    Hi LindaSmith1,

Thank you for your comment as usual! In fact, yes you are right. many companies are getting better as day passes by and Google been tough especially to those in Asian countries. Not many got approved and local companies decided to venture into the industry.

Anyway, always good to have more choices :)

It is about time that Google Adsense finds out that it isn't the only game in town.
