Numbers city needs a king

Updated on September 6, 2014

In the numbers city, a king was needed to spread peace and govern with justice and honesty.
Three inheritors of the thrown appeared before the election committee to test their knowledge and capacities.

The Zero talked first, stating his power and strength, “Elimination is every enemy’s fate. I will impose peace with strength. And being pitiless imposes respect. To the infinity I will exile every opponent.”

The number One’s turn arrived. He took enough time trying to talk that the number Two, exited, couldn’t wait more and started talking “I will multiply what we gain twice. Our economy will be better than ever. To those who do well, I give rewards; no matter how will people live. Our kingdom’s power is in money. No need of those who fail.”

“Number One, you are the only one yet we didn’t hear.”

“I... I can’t buy people’s love with money. Neither can I impose peace through strength. Love is a choice and “spread” should be used instead of “impose” when it talks about peace. I can do nothing alone; but together, step by step, much can be done. To everyone I show his true value so that no enemy can approach. I reward those who work. Pity is what I feel for those who fail and help is what I give. Respect comes from inside. If I respect everyone’s value, sure, what I will gain is respect”

The committee, being surprised by the noble thoughts of the number who seemed even not able to talk, declared immediately the number One a king.

I'm not sure something inspired it. We had some talks about maths me and my bro. I think that's what gave this, maths in a story. Thanks for commenting LABrashear ^^
