Tornado!

Suddenly, an unbearable roaring and rumbling preludes a swirling funnel of clouds and violent wind. Houses explode as the funnel tears through the neighborhood leaving behind a field of debris that was once peoples lives and belongings.

Unpredictable Weather

Have you ever been in a severe storm? If you have, then you remember the feeling when the sirens flare to life and the house trembles in the wind and thunder. You may also remember the waiting to see what will happen. Wondering if the storm will pass, leaving your neighborhood unscathed save for a few branches or if you will be spending weeks cleaning up the damage and finding a place to live until repairs are completed.

For some, however, storms may bring more than clean up woes. These unlucky few may have their lives forever changed. All it takes is one powerful storm to send life on a crazy whirlwind of changes, from loss of loved ones to completely rebuilding homes and lives. Some of the storms that bring this kind of changes on are Hurricanes, and tornadoes.

It's not just summer that holds the surprises.

More often than not, we hear about the wild summer weather of Tornado Alley and The Hurricane Season, but we forget that even in winter we aren't entirely safe. There are those baddies such as Blizzards, ice storms, and subzero arctic chills that can bring Large changes of their own. These baddies can cause as much trouble and damage as the summer storms. Winter comes with falling buildings due to snow weight, icy roads and accidents, and deadly wind chills. So it seems no matter what time of year it is preparation is essential. As is remembering all those who've been lost and who've suffered due to these life changing events. As they say, Mother Nature is not one to cross. The following is a writing dedicated to all those lost in Mother Natures severe and extreme weather.

Oh! the snow!

The Tornado

Note: most tornadoes happen in the spring and summer months. The following is dedicated to all those who survived and all who did not. And to serve as a reminder why it is best to be prepared.

The dark roiling clouds moved slowly in. Strong gusts of wind blew leaves and dust down the street in swirling patterns, while occasional rumbles of thunder and flashes of lightening heralded the coming storm.
The street was abandoned as all sought shelter and within minutes the onslaught began. Pouring rain, violent winds, blasts of thunder and flashes of lightening fill the once tranquil day. Blowing debris such as dust, leaves, and newspapers add to the mix.
Suddenly, an unbearable roaring and rumbling preludes a swirling funnel of clouds and violent wind. Houses explode as the funnel tears through the neighborhood leaving behind a field of debris that was once peoples lives and belongings. Though storm lasts only a short time, the changes it brings lasts into the future and for the unfortunate souls in its path those changes hold the most profound lessons which will never be forgotten.
