Ode to my Chainsaw

Updated on December 28, 2012

I bought you,

For $225

But did not love you less.

Your smooth, supple handles

Returning to my hands

Such a

And gentle touch.

At times can

My emotions

And leave my body quivering

Your lovely appearance

Such vibrant color

And thy lovely smell

After time spent with you

I feel drenched

In your scent

Such sweet aroma.

The sound of your voice

The tension and

Brings such peach.

And though your tongue,

At times,

Can be sharp

And lash out

Tearing others apart

To small pieces

It never treats me such.

It’s solace to me.

I long for nothing more,

Than to

Your soft, warm

Against me

For truly you are a

Above all else.

@annart - Thanks. I tried to put a different spin than would be typical of a chainsaw.

Well-crafted and amusing poem. Who would've thought that a chain-saw could be the object of emotions! Great stuff. Up and funny.

@teaches - Thank you. I wrote it just playing around with my students, and I kind of liked how it turned out. A chainsaw is definitely useful to have around.

Great personification of this tool. I know they are good friends to have and very handy. Good job!
