Oh! Mirror!

Updated on March 30, 2017

When I smile , my reflection smiles too

Mirror! Mirror! oh! Imitating Mirror!

To it I absurdly gazed .

My everyday reflecting self,

strikingly made me amazed.

Mirror! Mirror! Oh! obedient Mirror!

When in front of it I smiled ,

to my wonder, my image,

returned a smile so mild.

Mirror! Mirror! oh! silly Mirror!

When I broke into tears with a shout,

I was utterly surprised to see ,

my reflection too cried out.

Mirror! Mirror! My slave Mirror!

When I fondled with my hair,

my reflection too obediently,

caressed her hair with care.

Mirror! Mirror! Oh! Comical Mirror!

When I looked with a funny grace,

my very humorous image,

made the same hilarious face.

Mirror! Mirror! oh! Observant Mirror!

When my chocolate I swallowed,

my mimicking self in the mirror,

accurately , concisely followed.

When I felt sad , my image was sad too

When I fondled with my hair , my reflection did the same

Mirror! Mirror! Oh! Rowdy Mirror!

When I broke out in outrage,

my image too was horrified,

copied this annoyed stage.

Mirror! Mirror! Oh! Funky Mirror!

When I stood in stylish gesture,

I was stunned to see,

my image was changing her posture.

Mirror! Mirror! Oh! Imbecile Mirror!

When I made a pretentious display,

what an interesting thing to see!

She acted the same ostentatious way.

Mirror! Mirror! Oh! Sad Mirror!

When I remorsefully sat,

my image too was in agony,

she too did that.

Mirror! Mirror! Oh! Loving Mirror!

When I stormed in laughter,

joy grasped my reflection,

as if happy ever after.

Mirror! Mirror! Oh! Friend Mirror!

Do you know all this why I say?

Come I’ll tell you a story!

Right now and today.

When I was angry, my image was angry too.

The mirror reminded me of the story of “TIT FOR TAT” , the famous, well-known fairy tale of the fox and the crane

The crane couldn't feed himself from the plate.
The crane couldn't feed himself from the plate.

The shrewd crane with a long neck and a long beak invited his newly made friend , the fox to dine together. The gullible fox paid a generous visit to the cranes’ place. But the notorious crane had crafted other plans. He gave the fox juice to drink in a long-necked pot. The fox having a short neck unlike the crane, disappointingly failed to draw in the juice from the pot. While on the other hand the impudent crane very easily fed himself from the pot. The famished fox returned empty stomach , being utterly humiliated.

The cunning fox then made up his mind to give the crane a lesson by repeating the same foul play. The fox politely invited at dinner. The crane elegantly and punctually arrived I anticipation of delicious, mouth-watering meal. But to his astonishment the fox served the meal in a plate from which the crane was unable to feed with his long beak. That is how the fox returned the same horrifying insult to him.

You will reap what you sow. If you do good to others you will know that god will equally fulfill your life with abundant blessings.

My attitude will be based on how you treat me.

After all that has happened-

people will forget what you have done to them

or what they have done to you.

But people will never forget the harsh feeling they receive from you. And this is going to make you bitterly memorable to them.

Worship is a sacrifice

Respect is earned

Love is a gift

Honesty is appreciated

Friendship is a gain

Enmity is returned.

When you smile and forgive , you will see others will do the same

Smile is contagious , go ahead and contaminate others with your glorious smile. Your smile will make others smile . In turn one day you will smile for others.

If you backstab your friend, you must know that god is waiting for you with a sword in his hand.

If you slap someone , you will get the slap back
If you slap someone , you will get the slap back

If you seek revenge then dig two graves , one for your enemy and the other for yourself.

Best way of revenge is to just smile back.

Holding your anger

Is like drinking poison

and expecting the

other person to die.

- Buddha

You can’t litter negativity, then your life one day will become gloom- ridden and dismissive.

Never think that life outside your boundary is better, if you do so you are behaving like the half- witted, imprudent, silly lion looking into the river and thi

God has provided you the best that you deserve, the life outside you is worse. Without questioning have faith in god and obey him. You will get your return.

The god is merciful, slow to anger . You do good deeds, he will return you gracious blessings.

If you do anything wrong today thinking that there is no mirror, your foul actions aren’t being reflected , then you are wrong . God always holds a huge mirror in front of everyone, so that your every execution , every performance is reflected in it. And your image, rather your blessings from heaven depends on that.

Life is like a MERRY GO ROUND , everything you do everything you see, will come back to you.

So beautiful!! Such a wholesome Hub and you spoke to us in such a simple way. One of the best ways that I've seen so far. If we understand, we can make realms of progress.

Only one thing. God's sword is His Grace; His Compassion; His divine Justice... but justice is Compassion in disguise. He has no need for a sword as he loves us too much. But if you can write like this, then you must know that.

The poem itself is quite promising! Hari Om!

A really enjoyable read! You are so talented!! My wife is constantly asking me, "did you look at yourself in the mirror?" Sheepishly I answer, "No hon is there something wrong? I am follically challenged so I know it can't be a hair problem. "Your gig is out of line!!!! Just glad it was my fly being open! Whew! Have a blessed day.
