Oh To Be A Kid Again

Updated on November 3, 2010

Do You Remember When ?

Walking down the street  everything looked so tall

Remembering to tie your shoes laces so you don't fall

Reaching up and holding a hand that guided you

Wishing only to be big

Always hungry and you could talk all day

Once in awhile you were told to give it a rest

A polite way to say Shut Up!

Everything started with a question

The world was yours to figure out

You felt secure and happy

You didn't have many answers

But mom and dad always new

They were your rock

Sometimes you got in big trouble

Deservingly so

Your only a kid trying to get his head on straight each day

But you lived through it

How I will never know

You had dreams that were like no other

A piece of you reached for the sky

Another part of you would settle for apple pie

As the years passed

There were so many things adults worried about

It was not your place and you kept your nose out of the adults business

You went on your way

Going out to play

The only time you stopped

Was when you were exhausted

Then hungry

There was always food for you to eat

You started off with a healthy snack like an apple

Because it was too close to supper

When you sat down to eat

The only reason why mom and dad let you eat so much

They realized that the more you eat

You would finally grow and be out of their hair once and for all

Then someday you would be on your own

For now they made sure you showered after you ate

Brushed your teeth before bed

Then you got tucked in for a good night sleep

Dim Flaxenwick There is so much we see and experience each day.Our memories are hidden under the years we have lived over and over again.Dr.Pastorcarlotta I love to share and some day I will be able to go down so deep that all I have left is bones. Then I will be finally be able to say happiness is not skin deep.Minnetonka Twin I appreciate and feel that we all are connected in a deeper level that only few will ever understand. That no space or time can ever keep us apart. All life is Art.We are just artists with just different talents and can't wait to express our feelings to the world.Everyone thank you so much for giving me a chance to express myself.
