On The Tired Side

Updated on September 15, 2011

Pick A Side

When there is nothing to do

Choose a side that is right for you

There are so many choices not one will be enough

When getting out of bed we choose to get up on the right side or left side of the bed

On with our day if we only knew

Then as we hop into the shower an unexpected side will ache

I wonder what that is from

As I think some more

Is this a sign that I got up on the wrong side of the bed this morning

No it can't be I slept so wonderfully

Now that I give it some thought I did roll from side to side all night trying to get comfortable

I usually sleep on my back but this time I slept on my right side no my left side

Oh I don't know

I put the clothes in the wash and it wasn't ten minutes later when I could hear a thump, thump thump

Our old washing machine goes off balance and makes a noise when there are too many clothes on one side

So after I go down and move the clothes all around

My wife asks me Isn't it funny

When we go to a wedding there are two people who are about to embark on a new life together as one but when you look around the reception

There is the brides side and the grooms side

Wouldn't it be great if they mixed the two families together

What kind of example are we setting

Later all is forgotten as we go out for lunch and the lady behind the counter asks what do you want for your sides mashed potatoes or corn

I am torn

When we sit down to eat my wife says I think your sister shouldn't of sided with your mother when she knows she was wrong

Later driving on the road I tell my wife don't you hate it when big trucks drive on your side of the road and you have to slow up or even stop to let them go by

We go to a store and come back out and someone parked so close to our car I couldn't even get in the drivers door

I had to crawl over from the passenger side to the drivers side to just get in the car

Home at last and I go to lay in the sun and take a nap

Just as I get comfortable the sun goes from one side of the house to the other

I can't win as I get up to go in the house

The little boy next door comes over and says we are having a game of basketball Joey had to go home

I need someone on my side do you want to play

Sure when in doubt pick a side any side will do

Kenneth Avery I am so glad I could make you laugh.I share your loss about your Siamese cat.I lost one of my cats just because my cat wanted to go on the other side of the road.He got hit by a car.The cat named(Baby)had a huge yard to play and all the other neighbors yards too.Years went by and no problem until one day.He wanted to go a little farther and crossing the road home was hit by a car.I blamed my cat.How could I blame the same cat I loved so much.I had to understand it was Gods will.I just don't know the answers why? Thank you for sharing your story so I too can learn more about life and Gods plans.

DREAM . . .this was AWESOME. I voted up, and all across the board--LOVED this hub and I too love cats. I had a Siamese and a common yellow cat when I was a teenager and one day while my family and I were away, some low-life stole these cats. I was angry of course, but over time I focused on the TRUE words of Jesus, "be ye not deceived, God is not mocked. For WHATSOEVER a man sows, that he shall also reap," not that I wished bad things for the cat thief, but I cannot control the forces that govern our universe. Thank you so much for sharing your talents.

      Hi Dream On,

When I used to live in the UK I had to drive on the left, and now in Canada I drive on the right. I guess I had to pick a side! It was wierd at first, but now it's natural. Thanks for your hub.

Funny, awesome and beautiful, all rolled into one.

So glad I´m 1st with this one, because I´ve been away and neglected my favourite people.

This was great and so REALISTIC (to my life anyway and obviously yours. Hee Hee)
