On a Wing and a Prayer 2: Another inspirational collection of angelic poetry

Updated on February 25, 2017

The Angels are Listening to Hear Your Prayer Requests

Fluttering Wings

Since it had been six months or so, since my last poetry collection on angelic thoughts and quotes, here’s another set of heavenly poetry to inspire you, to uplift your spirits, and give you divine intervention. I have many more poetry collection hubs to post in the days and months ahead this year, until I reach the end. Thanks for reading my poetry and commenting them from time to time. Enjoy this set of ten poems!

God vs Evil and Christian Immortality

God versus Evil

When tempted to commit an immortal sin,
When we're wanted to give up or give in,
Don’t let evil forces bring us down,
Don’t let that smile turn into a frown.

Just remember though, the forces are strong and tried,
The angels of Heaven are on the side,
Keep our spirit up, and don’t fall,
Because good versus evil, His angels, and God is over all.

Angel quote: Remember though thy foes are strong and tried,
The angels of Heaven are on thy side, and God is over all.—Adelaide A.Proctor

Christian Immortality

There’s not much practical Christianity in the man,
Who lives on better terms with angels and seraphs,
Than with his children, servants, and neighbors,
In order to get along with one another in harmony.

There’s no anger, fighting, and abuse in the afterlife,
All is quiet and stress-free to live into immortality,
If we can all wish to do the same to shape our world,
Life would be better for everyone in every nation of our planet.

Angel thought #25: There’s not much practical Christianity
in the man who lives on better terms with angels and seraphs
than with his children, servants, and neighbors.—Henry Ward Belcher

Omnipresent Foundations and Heaven or Hell

Omnipresent Foundations

Every breath of air and ray of light and heat,
Warmth, peace, love and joy is spread all over earth,
Every beautiful prospect is magnificently built and founded,
Perfectly molded for man, animal, plant, and beast.

As it were the skirts of their garments they wear,
The natural empyrean resourceful element of the firmament,
The weavings of the robes of these, whose faces see God,
Perfectly guided to Him to rebuild ruins and keep us all from harm.

Angel thought #94: Every breath of air and ray of light
and heat, every beautiful prospect, is, as it were the
skirts of their garments, the heaving of the robes of
those whose faces see God.—-John Henry Newman

Heaven or Hell

Take heart, and follow the virtues,
Our souls be clean, which is good news,
Humility made men into angels above,
Peace, laughter, joy and tons of God’s love.

But don’t let us dare be tempted by sin,
Don’t quit, give up or even give in,
Because, if we do, we become one of the fallen,
With pride from the devil, we won’t hear God calling.

So follow this advice and be good,
God be here for us and be understood,
These are the signs we can foretell,
If our fate is between Heaven or Hell.

Angel thought #14: It was pride that changes angels
into devils; it is humility that makes men as angels.—Augustine

Don't be Afraid to Talk and His Angels in Your Prayers With This Book

Silent Words and Written in the Stars

Silent Words

Up above in the Heavens, white-robed angels are singing,
With songs from a choir and musical instruments of praise and love,
When, oh when shall I see the bright joy it’s bringing?
Spreading peace to the world with a single white dove.

Have patience, but listen for silent words of hope,
They’ll be ever around the bright jeweled-decked throne,
Feel uplifted, and find a fallen feather to help you cope,
It’ll be filled at your beautiful, bountiful home, not alone?

Angel thought #73: White-robed angels are singing
Ever around the bright throne,
When, O when I shall see thee,
Beautiful, beautiful home?—H.R. Palmer

Written in the Stars

We think it’s one of the scars in our cultures,
That we have too high an opinion of ourselves,
Although God created man before our time,
The evolution of mankind created animals.

We align ourselves with the angels up above us,
Instead of the higher primates in science,
We’re more angelic in nature and in personality,
That with our beastly selves we once thought we had.

Angel quote: I think it’s one of the scars in
our cultures that we have too high an opinion
of ourselves. We align ourselves with the angels
instead of the higher primates.—Angela Carter

Saintly Aura and Supernatural Healing

Saintly Aura

See that you don’t look down on one of these little ones,
It’s a way of showing fear and anxiety in their intrepidity,
If you look up to the sky, even to the spiritual presence of them,
It resonates a positive outlook to them of yourself.

For I tell you that their angels in the omnipotent Heaven,
Always see the face of our Father in Heaven, too,
The aura shows good faith and total innocence,
If it’s brightly colored, its portrays you as saintly.

Angel thought #57: See that you don’t look down
on one of these little ones. For I tell you that
their angels in heaven always see the face of my
Father in heaven.—Matthew 18:10.

Supernatural Healing

God’s messengers greet you when it’s your time,
Singing songs of God’s praise about love and peace,
Playing eternal lyrics to soothe the anxiety,
The soul should always stand ajar from your spirit.

You’ll feel a part of you slip away, slowly to the light,
As it’s the soul is ready to welcome the ecstatic experience,
Warmth blankets you with penance, solace, and healing,
Your afterlife starts here without worries and limitations.

Angel quote: The soul should always stand ajar,
ready to welcome the ecstatic experience.—Emily Dickinson

Primed Procession and Celestial Presence

Primed Procession

We trust in angels, in primed procession,
Wings closed and aflutter, harps finely tuned,
Rank after rank with even feet of slippers,
Voices in pitch, an orchestra played, pens ready to scribe.

For such when of the angels come and go,
In any weather, every day of the week,
White light shining, power is invisible,
And uniforms of snow to match and wear.

Angel quote: We trust, in primed procession,
For such the angels go,
Rank after rank, with even feet
And uniforms of snow.—Emily Dickinson

Celestial Presence

Angels are wonderful and exciting to have one,
Without our awareness that they’re there for us,
A fallen feather from wings, an invisible touch from their hands,
A silent sigh of answered prayers and dreams and wishes come true.

And they have the appeal of being holier and wise,
Who’ll take care of us and manifest God’s personal concern,
Righting the wrongs in the scaled battle of good versus evil,
To become like them someday, when it’s our turn.

Angel quote: Angels are wonderful and exciting,
and they have the appeal of beings who will take
care of us and manifest God’s personal concern.—Andrew M. Greeley

Nice rhyming and interesting topics. I suppose one can say it's a divinised subject. Angels, I gather, are really cute beings. Carry on!

This is a time in our history when we need inspiration and prayer...we need to find our way as a nation and not as splintered groups. Thank you for starting my Sunday with this timely article/collection.
