On the Grassfield

Updated on June 1, 2016

On the Grassfield

There are nights where these eyes can't be closed

Paralyzed by the moments I composed

Imprisoned by the dark, chained by the day

Thus the spear of this heart long would stay

Oh! You stars in the sky bring me the light

Please bring me the courage to move on by

Long I fear the furious bite of the night

Now it drags me down and would bleed my eye

Then when my eyes meets the lanterns of the sky

It resembles each and every moments I passed by

Though it was embedded there since the dawn of time

Though I can never change its form with my bare hands

Still it rolls around, move on and meets with the land

I can see myself in the sky

But why can't I
