Once I had passion..........

Updated on November 3, 2013

And then no more
She asked .....
What is it that's missing in your life?
And I thought for awhile
and answered
But why do you say that ?

I was quiet for some time
and then.....
"Because that's where it all begins"
in life
A dream
a woman
maybe a once in
a lifetime love

And then it all begins
a seed
a fertile place
to lay
a smile each morning
a touch of lust
and an eternal need
for her touch

She reached over and put
her hand on my
knee and was silent for
awhile and then leaned softly
into my chest
and cried

And I thought .......
At least she can feel
she can still feel

Ed, this is a poem of quiet thoughts and conversation, yet powerful emotion. I can so feel the deep yearning and need for the passion once within. You surely have passion to write a poem that can so deeply affect the emotions of others. Beautifully written.

Passion the word that brings us alive. Some of us have it for a lifetime, some lose it due to mental or physical distress. Others keep chasing it, like the elusive blue butterfly, once we capture it we hang on to it for a spell and release it upon the world. To keep the fire burning in a relationship or marriage we must both never lose sight of what brought us together in the first place and continue to do those things that keep the flame alive. Peace and blessings I send to you dear poet.

Were ever more poignant words penned? I think not. Beautifully written, Ed.

A lovely poem. The dream and the reality are not always the same, but we can always hope - and continue to dream.

      Dear Ed,

Excellent poetry as always. Sad reality as to what can happen over time.

      Hugs, Faith Reaper

The story is certainly there; poignant, unequivocal and with a bittersweet sadness. I like the way you write. :-)

Great poem, there is so many good poets on here that we can make a book so huge and it would be a good seller.

Thanks for this, tells a great story.
