Poem: Once again in my Dream. My Fathers Legacy:

Updated on January 16, 2012

Once again in a dream. My Fathers legacy!

Here again I am awaken

To this same dream

One that seems new,

It had the same faces

Different characters,

As the story rang trough.

I did not want this dream

To end, it made me smile

Even through the sadness

I had just comprehend

my father who had

already died?

He had somehow

came again to visit me

it was not the first time

I am sincerely hoping

That It won’t be the last.

You see I was not

there to say goodbye

When my Father died

As I heard the news,

my emotions almost

in taking me over,

It was summoning me

let my feeling go , Cry!

But I remember

my father's

many words to me

They will always

in my mind be fresh

Even now as I

those days as a child

Laying on his chest,

I can still hear his words

With that bravery

which followed.

Now those tears

must be rolled back

instructed to

Relinquished their attack

Now I look forward

To that bright tomorrow

Just the way my Father

showed me to defeat

that forever

threatening sorrow

I made this into

a moment of silence.

This day I must

Always remember

Pay homage

Show reverence.

He said son

don’t ever be afraid

at your time of death;

Don’t ever let them

see you cry,

Not here in this life,

Live for the truth

not for rny regrets

or a reason to ask why

Why is already answered

by the actions taken.

I immediately

placed my head

Silently on my pillow

Trying to invoke

the sleep from

Which I awoke.

But instead a flood

of thoughts

Kept invading my head

There was no more

sleep for me,

at least not now

on this same bed.

It wasNovember 23 1983.

A day for me that

will live in infamy.

I would always love

You my dear father,

You have made life

so easy for this son

To live and always learn

from your legacy.

Once again in my dream.

My Fathers legacy.

Thank you "AE" for it's with strength like the type displayed by you , throughout , that's where others find similiariy and comfort, you may not know this but believe me your ways have helped and continues to help many .

I remember "AE" I remember them all from the very first one I read . Have you ever lost a friend , to the training nurse getting sick, to you laughing in the funeral all of them. Any time I read, is to remember, and I am grateful that many of the things I read from you are quite strengthening.I feel where things comes from in people.

Give thanks and thanks always .

Beautiful Sky.. A father's love is wonderful. I loved the line, when i laid my head on my Father's chest..I never knew my Father. I wish i had, but it was not to be. My Mother left him when i was two, he died when i was eight, only seeing him one time before..You are so blessed to have known a good Father..Thank you..

How true. As kids we sometimes think our parents are mean but as we grow up we realize they were just loving and protecting us. Yes, I am a very proud daughter of two wonderful parents.

Thank you tillsontitan, you bring a smile every time. First the name always get me. Great name . Then that NY thing, it's magnetic that entire state/city.

But most of all, for taking the time to read and comment it means a lot , well appreciated , thank you.

Once the message gets out, the intent is to share.

I again feel great to know that you are also a very proud daughter. Do you know that in most cases the misunderstanding have turned to disrespect. But I l knew they are my parents, I might have gotten mad at something , but that's my parents. Here is this I could not let them see! lol. Dad's if understood carefully all they want was to please ,and they have only that one time. Kids are very tough judges , both the small ones and even worse as big kids.

Feelings are now we are adults.

      Sincere thanks .

As always your hub shows the love and reverence you had for your father. He must be so proud! We are so lucky when we have a good relationship with our father. "I can still hear his words With that bravery which followed." So much said in so few words. God Bless you and keep you. Voted up.

My Condolences! Thank you chspublish, for reading and lending a few great words of your own , and that's feels wonderful . Thank you.

Knowing that he was quite proud of me his only child, and I did my best in his presence mainly to let his know that I heard what he was saying, loud and clear.

This is the reason, and I am happy that you feel this way about your dad also, it is because of what I am witnessing in these times, I am wondering how some of those parents are feeling . I am grateful that the Most High Kept my mother and at her 91 , she is receiving double.

There is a love that is your parents , it cannot ever be forgotten, because life itself reminds you, it instills this feelings in you, and in such a way, whether you like it or not . You can be as stubborn and rude, as ignorance may leads you , but eventually it hits you, sometime during your life, and most end up trying to find out how to make amends.

From your words I clearly understand, that you did your best and that's what matters.

That song has been something to me since it came out I knew , some time in life I was coming to it. I will help the kids as soon as I can, they need to at least be aware.

      Thanks again it's much appreciated.

I will be stopping by your site as soon as I can.

So poignantly and beautifully put - he would be proud of your words.

With tears in my heart, soon to be shed, I read your fine words spoken so well and so clearly.

And your words cause me to remember my own dear father, but a few months passed and I remember all the good times spent in his company, knowing he would be gone, eventually. I never worried about the unspoken words or things I should have said. His presence was always enough for me. Even goodbye was silent, while he lay asleep.

And there are never going to be enough words to fill his presence.

      Thanks for your good words.
