One Day Closer To Sweet Success

Updated on August 14, 2014

When Past Dreams Crash And Burn

Life is unpredictable and shocking

When you work so hard at something you hope it works out

Then to find out because of changes beyond your control

Things get ruined and destroyed

The feeling of sadness and loss

Anger and frustration

For me it is not of any monetary value like loosing a diamond ring or precious painting

It is my hard work and my dreams ripped into shreds

I recently had old writings damaged from water

They are unreadable and worthless

Years of memories erased

They were in what I thought was a safe place

Now my insides turned inside out

I take this feeling and find ways of working it through

Learning to be more careful in the future

Taking the loss and putting it perspective

We can't always have our way

It is impossible to save or keep all memories

Replacing those earlier thoughts whatever they may be

The uncertainty of the past that I have lived

I once had taken the time to write pages of notes and ideas

Hoping that one day years later I could see life differently

Appreciate life more than at that moment in time

Bring a new sense of urgency to my current work

Reminding me of the bold truth

We all expire, terminate at one date

Nothing lasts forever

Reaching for goals are good

Too many goals at one time can cause confusion

Leaving certain important things left on a back burner

It makes me reevaluate my current situation and feelings

Moving forward with a new found energy and power

A persistence that I have never known before

Accepting a loss that we all experience in our lives

That can cripple us where we stand

Then again it is up to us to find it in ourselves

A rebirth of new ideas and a development I was not aware of

Like a growth spurt

You have many during your life

Yet we are unaware of our own bodies and mind

This is one that I am conscious of

I can feel all through my body

A transformation so to speak

I look out into the sunlight

What is not to like

A beautiful day I see

Birds eating and chirping at the same time

Wind charms ringing a familiar ring

I am ready for a wonderful day

Let's all begin

shara63 You are so right. Sometimes my thoughts don't all line up. One minute I say I understand and then the next minute I am going back to that old memory and feeling the emptiness. I know their are so many good things in life but it takes will power and many other talents to keep going. Thank you for sharing and commenting. I want to thank you so much. Have an incredible day.

annart Surprises come in all different shapes and sizes. I was more angry at myself for letting this happen. Then I thought I could not have known. We all get busy doing things day to day that override our long term dreams. We have to work and live our lives the happiest we can. Learning to appreciate the now and what's done is done. The old saying is true. I think it goes something like this.... What is the use of crying over spilled milk. It's gone move on. It still doesn't make it any easier. I have to keep my thoughts from doing that loop and going back to negative thinking. Thank you so much for reading and sharing. It helps me keep focused and moving forward.

I love this! I've lost things that meant a lot to me; never to have them again is gut-wrenching indeed. However, as you say, we can move on, appreciate the now and make sure we value and conserve what we have in the present.

Great images here and lovely words.
