One Piece reaches 900th chapters in manga with Shonen Jump
One Piece is the most read and selling manga of the last decade. This Japanese manga series is written and illustrated by Eiichiro Oda. It has been serialized in Shueisha's Weekly Shōnen Jump magazine since July 22, 1997.The famed manga has finally touched 900th chapter this week after celebrating it's 20th anniversary last year. The manga has set a Guinness World Record for the most copies published for the same comic book by a single author and is selling the manga series worldwide with 430 million copies sold.
The manga is a story of a young man (Monkey D. Luffy) travelling to become the most known pirate on the seas. Along the way he meets and befriends his quirky crew mates - Roronoa Zoro (swordman), Nami (navigator), Ussop (Sniper), Sanji (Cook), Chopper (doctor), Nico Robin (archaeologist) and Brook (musician). They gel together on this epic adventure and also help people along the way. (I know pirates helping people, duh! it's a manga).
The 900th chapter brings us new color pages in Weekly Shonen Jump's 18th issue.
The cover page shows Luffy, Nami and Chopper standing on the deck of the ship Thousand Sunny.
The color page shows the crew enjoying with the Minks tribe from the Zou arc.
One Piece is on break next week and will return in the Weekly Shonen Jump's 20th issue.
