One Single Tear

Updated on November 10, 2011

It started out as one single tear,

and then it became an incredible nightmare,

in there, the air would carry the moans,

she stood still,

as if she had become the stones,

the mist would spray her face,

and that somehow soothed,

but in the damp place,

not even the soft tendrils

of her hair moved,

she was listening,

and her emotions would strain,

there was only the low backdrop

of the wind and rain,

her eyes moved over the dark terrain,

and then fixed on the beast,

it moved closer with a rustling sound,

even closer, knuckles dragging on the ground,

scraping, but it was steady,

the beast was ready,

and drawing near,

it had a limping step,

but one that she could hear,

dragging slowly across the earth,

bringing with it, so much fear,

she was frightened,

as she felt the pains

in her temple tighten,

the horrible image left mental stains

a terror passing through her veins,

the beast stood directly in front of her,

as all hope drains.

Nicely put but I would rather be in the light, Jesus is the LIGHT. I always try to get away from the darkness.and Light can kill darkness..put a candle in a dark room watch how it destroys the darkness around us..Jesus Christ guides me through the darkness with His light..I will vote up because you seem to be a good writer..God bless you.

Loved it. Once again you've found a way to go dark and chilling. Are you also the photographer? I like the photos you find.

This is an interesting read, though emotion you evoke is little frightening.
