Online (Poetry by GalaxyRat)

GalaxyRat is fond of rats and writing. And dark poetry. She knows that people don't like all these things together... but who cares?

He's a youngster online, poking around the web,

He stumbles across an ad,

He sees the picture, and his childhood is ruined.

She's a teenager online, logging into her secret dating account,

She's chatting with him, he wants to come over, he thinks she's rad,

But her parents don't know she's doing it.

He's a bank manager online, then gets a message,

It tells him to fill out a form, it looks legit,

And finds no money in his account, and knows he's a goner.

She's a youngster online, she's in a chat room,

All he says makes her feel small, like a midget,

She knows she has to be accepted, but she can't take it any longer.

Hey, you right there! Yes, you!

I wanted to vote for: All your poetry is great and the first answer, too! LOL...

Ah, yes...the dangers and snares of online access and the sticky web of deceit and lies; I've witnessed this many times.

I've been a target in the past for others LULZ, and evil pranks. It's frightening, and sad.

I've written several poems on it about a digital boyfriend and a Facebook predator... Bullies are the least of discerning tyrants online. I have stories...!

      I love your poetry!

      Hugs,

      Tamara

John, most people find out the bad at a young age because how unfiltered some search engines are. And to those who are huddled beneath a rock all their life, then, it's a real shock when they find out about such and such. Thanks for reading!

The Intenet has opened up a lot of opportunities to connect with people all over the world, but this has both good and bad consequences. Everyone needs to beware of the dangers. Good poem.

Oh, the dangers of the Internet. You highlight them well. The web brings out both the worst and the best in people.
