Open Mind, Determined Goals

Updated on January 1, 2014

I approach this page with an open mind

Being faced with writer's block

I have so many ideas in mind

So let the words be the keys to unlock

As I sit here to allow the thoughts unfold

It is as plain as any eye can see

My mind feels all jumbled up-

Should I write the actual or fantasy?

Fantasy is really nice,

Fun things to make you feel warm inside

But reality writing reveals the truth

To make you want to run away and hide

I could do a play on words

I always want to laugh and be funny

Or I could show you my passionate side

But I have no one I can call "honey".

So I sit awaiting for the words

Hopefully be inspired by the One

Who makes it all possible for us to be alive

So let's be thankful that with His Word

This gift of writing has begun.

The Gospel of John, chapter 1, verses 1 and 2 read:

"In the beginning, was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God."

"Should I write the actual or fantasy" I can relate to that question. However, I find it more rewarding to wait for the inspiration, as you rightly suggested.

It is amazing what can trigger the imagination, just by looking around the house for memories...
