Others Not Me

Updated on December 25, 2017

They say the simple things

in life are free,

but nothing simple

comes to me,

all around I look and see

only to others it appears to be,

life for others normality,

buzzing around

like busy little bees,

yearning dreams all trying to see,

floating like leaves

away from me,

happiness eludes like

the branches of a tree,

hope for the dammed

from the mouths that plea,

moist tired eyes

that become bleary,

to others life seems so carefree

beyond the pale

in silent dignity,

to me my solitary tears,

rivers run so salty,

toward an end that

becomes slippery,

long lost emotion

for others which seem,

to pass ever-so swiftly
