Our Egos

Updated on January 6, 2012

Sometimes we shut each other out.

Having nothing left to do but scream and shout.

With each day we strive within ourselves to see,

Makes it more possible for us to be.

This day I pledge with my heart

To never leave you alone in the dark.

I vow to give my all.

Even if it is God I must call.

It is you I plan this day

To forever strive to be with and stay

In your heart and good graces

Even in our worst cases.

So let's take this day to remember,

How we will reunite again in December.

Holding each other through the night

Not trying to leave one another's sight.

Though it is difficult we must try

To not let our love and passion die.

I love you more now than ever

Wanting to part with you never.

I know my dedication is not in vain,

Because in your eyes I see the pain.

Of being apart from your love.

But help comes from above.

So put one hand in His and one in mine

And together we will walk this line

Of growth and transformation.

Knowing each turn means new information

About ourselves and life

Which sometimes will be strife.

I know that time will reveal our next step

But I go knowing that your love I have kept

In my actions and in my thought

Hoping your trust I have caught

Now as I leave this note for you

I pray it leaves hope anew.

Hope is what inspires me

Because in your eyes my future I see
