Our Enemy at the Gates

Updated on April 8, 2017

How dare our enemies to chastise and all to profane,

As they break their own rules, make promises in vain.

Attacking the innocents, while so afraid of the strong,

All digging their own graves, to be where they belong.

Every setup, seen by one and all, a prediction, their fall,

Pretending to be a friend, an ally, then trying to harm all.

Crafty and so very sinister, untrustable, what they do say,

Every act is so devastating, that of the games all to play.

Enemy at the gates, we know who you are, of your plan,

How foolish of you to dare think we all don't understand.

Each move that you do make as of a chess braggadocio,

In truth, you rely upon falsehoods, of everything you know.

Old enemies of the state, your thinking now, is way too late,

Even though you may celebrate, to never escape your fate.

You bring punishment upon yourselves, an increasing rate.

You hasten to attack and defy, have no doubts, all anticipate.

Do the results at the ending of past great wars, serve as a guide,

In your own presumed strength, and of your confusing false pride?

Enemy at the gate, you still must wait, this we all much appreciate,

Your feints, false moves, on the board, we now soon shall obliterate.

Hurry back home, your ruined drawing board, from where you came.

Trash your plans and conniving ways, as a hurtful lesson, all so lame.

Team play, its every attempt, does not make waring plans so exempt,

As powerful nations have won wars to count, we hold you in contempt.

May our god bless and preserve us...
May our god bless and preserve us...

This poem made me feel uncomfottable for you whonu. Who is the enemy at the gate? Is this a political commentary on your country and some X person?Or are you talking about someone at hubpages? Where ever there is an enemy that enemy is seen as a friend to another.

Thank you for your commentary, my friend. Thanks for feeling uncomfortable for me, though I'm sorry you feel that way. I meant to make a patriotic statement and reassurance to the people. Our world has many enemies at the gate. It's hard to name all of them, you never know which to believe sometimes. Blessings. whonu

With what you and I hear through the media? I think the best we can do is glean many sources to see what repeats itself the most and then, err on caution

Yes, my friend, caution is the main concern right now. There are too many lives at stake to be careless and too quick to respond to any agitations stirred by opponents. The universal truth, that there are always the good guys, and the bad guys with ulterior motives, does so apply. We will get through it all and be okay. Blessings. whonu
