Our Father- poetic irreverence

Updated on September 12, 2011
I've upset someone!
I've upset someone!

Our Father

By Tony DeLorger © 2011

Forgive me Father for I have penned. It’s been one day from my last professing and HubPages beckons. There’s a little religion in all of us. Three hale Marys and all is forgiven.

Our Father- is a mechanic

Our Father who art in Melvern,

Harold be thy name.

Thy pickup come,

thy muffler done,

as good as it is at Midas.

Give us this day our daily bread,

and forgive us our discounts,

as we forgive those who discount against us.

And lead us not into valuations,

but deliver us from that evil.

For thine is a cash panel shop, the spray and the stories,

for ever and ever,

G’me ten.

Our Father- is an artist

Our Father whose art is heaven,

hollowed is thy brain.

Thy supplier come,

Thine mind will be done

On earth as it is in heaven.

Give us this day our daily meds,

As we forget who we are and slap paint on the canvas.

And lead us not into redemption,

but deliver us from boredom.

For thine is creation, the art and the torture,

for ever and ever.

Draw me a ten.
