Our Hands in Clay

By Tony DeLorger © 2013

In dreams of wonder and tales of awe,

when imaginations carve reality from soft stone,

and when hearts alive invest in promise,

journey long and hard into fields of fancy.

There in that state, where minds are open

and prospects broad and vast on a canvas in wait,

we forge worlds from dreams into reality,

from whim to the blatant stance of truth.

In our hands, the clay of vision,

waiting in anticipation for form,

anything more than the bland repetition of expectations,

engraved within unconscious minds.

Freedom fears the dark dominance of complacency,

and longs for constant rebirth,

within new horizons, from a courageous mind,

willing to remove the shackles of oppressive normality.

Within such minds lives our resurrection, our saving grace,

the very catalyst of a new life of wonderment,

buried within each one of us,

a question to be answered by the soul.

How then we answer this call,

is about who we are, and what we want with life,

to be courageous and fulfilled,

or remain a puppet of conditioning and the stayed expectations of right.

The choice is ours: street performer or accountant, athlete or clerk, happy or sad. What do you see in your dreams?

Thanks Jackie. That's the beauty of creative writing; what the reader see is always individual, interpretation open and multi-layered.

In dreams we may be what we have always wanted, be what we want to be..chase away the bad and hold on to joy, let our minds fly free. Thanks for sharing my friend. whonu
