Our Last Lovers Dance
This song must be heard when reading this piece
Here we stand again froze in each other's eyes
Dreams now are useless, so are plans and lies.
You say hi and I ask why?
Now we'll dance our last lover's dance.
We were given a spark in youth naive
And walked off with dark choices I believe.
I had her. You had him
Now "our" chances stand firm not shaky. Not slim.
I still chant your name when recalling *the game
Never looking away for another with strange name.
I have worshipped your steps for eons of time
For just this moment to laugh, cry, and live in rhyme.
Life sometimes is an evil sorcerrer with lies for stance
Cheating the lovers and melting their hope of chance.
So stand still my angel of God
We will dance our last lovers dance
On places we sought to trod.
Our music was not meant for sharing
Nay, twas just for us even if we were daring.
Now what I lose is nothing of silver
To take your lips and your love to deliver.
My spirit went to dust when I saw you as a girl
Eyes of stars, God's own breath in your curl.
I was weak, not knowing bravery's touch
Just sat watching, wanting, not asking that much.
Fate forgives sometimes and even old hearts live
One beat, one twinkle, and waiting to give.
Steps are faded, memories we waded to trance
In my arms we dance the last lovers dance.
Past regions of Saturn so cold
Past darkness of universe said to be only gold.
One step is all I have left
To seal that love in your heart I cleft.
Oh, failure of raven, stay dead in deathly trance
Oh, water of purity let you and I jump all spance.
Satan, you and demons of darkness ne'er had a chance
Oh, creation's lover here we have our last lovers dance.
I die a heartbeat at a time diving into your blue eyes
Touching a dream-like skin
Giving me thoughts of youth like we've already been
So laugh, my stardust oh, my stardust and prance
Never leave my fingertips in the last lovers dance.
