Our Love: The Dance of a Diamond-A Poem

I saw you

Across the floor

You were standing there

So young, so beautiful

I knew at that moment

I had to know you.

Around the floor we twirled

In each others arms

Looking into eyes so blue

I’d not be anywhere else

In all the world

At this moment I knew

As an honorable man

I asked your dad

For your hand

He said yes

So I thought how

To ask you best

The day we wed

Was the best I’ve had

It was a new love

Lifted far above

The standard of time

For on this day, I called you mine.

Was this love meant to be

Blessed by the Father

And deeper than the sea

A love that can go farther

Than a shooting star

But often times it got hard

But like a butterfly

Struggles in life

Once out of the cocoon

It spreads its wings and flies

It is time to face the truth

Nothing you can do

Nothing you can say

Will ever take the pain away

Have I been such an ass

To such a lovely lass

That I could isolate you dear

The answer is one I fear

Is it so hard to believe

That the pen is my relief

The emotion that flows through my hand

Could be hard to understand

Why you believe, I never understood

That my heart is made out of wood

I feel just as much as any other

Especially for the one I call lover

For you are my children’s mother.

There is no greater gift

You gave my heart a lift

And taught my heart to love

Could it be that we

Are like two turtle doves

You have been and always will be

So very important to me

As we move forward in this life

Let there be no more strife

Our love
Our love

Our love has been squeezed

Just like coal, heat was added

What is Left? What is Right?

We no longer need to fight

From the product of my rhymin’

Our love can be like a diamond

Pure

True

Eternal

Shining.

your poems are quite personal so they may not be of interest to magazines, but i would say they are priceless to you....... i would publish them if i hadd a magazine, and pay much more 10 cents..... how are you doing by the way

I thought of taking my poems and selling them to magazines or whatever. Might make ten cents off them.

No the pictures suck and make my eyes cross, I changed it to half whatever but it looks the same. I will fix it eventually. Further, if the pictures also caused your eyes to cross I apologize.

oh yes this is really really good, i love the way you are so open about everything, as even if things never get better between you, you are dealing with it, and it is out in the open........ i really love it, keep it forever. If i were you now, i would write one about your moments with the children that you hold dear... how old are they... do you see them..... did you put the photos on half width, as the quality is better then..... if not edit

      well done you
