Our Memories Shall Never Falter
The last Monday in every May,
a memorial, a very special day,
Brave soldiers, sailors, and airmen,
each one devoted in every way.
A time we observe each year,
of those we all loved so dear.
Gave up their lives for the country,
not a one showing any fear.
Those dedicated men, women,
who had their young lives taken.
Joined all together to defend us,
in the protection of this nation.
Some were brothers or sisters,
our daughters, or an only son.
Their days then cut so short,
before they hardly had begun.
When the long roll was called,
they each stood up so very tall.
Met their duty, did each so give,
was their best, they gave their all.
Fighting with greatest of courage,
then defeating their most evil foe.
Travelled on big ships and planes,
all fought, in returning every blow.
Fought in Europe, the Asian climes,
the Middle East, and much more.
Those who perished, sorely missed,
our defenders, dying by the score.
As we visit graves, their markers,
all just to show how we do care.
Every parade honors their bravery,
of all their strife, of its load to bare.
We revere our brave, those were lost,
Their bravery shown, of its terrible cost.
We shall hold in memories, the sacrifice,
For peace, freedom, a demanding price.
