Our Story (a poem)

Updated on October 21, 2012
Source

The story of

me and you

has already been written

many times before.

You may not even realize

but all these scenes have been done

the ending all finished

and wrapped up over there.

Take a look

you will see it’s all true.

Don’t you remember?

We have already said all these words.

Yes, the words are nice

like those of a dream

from long ago,

encompassing all I longed to hear

They have just gone stale

by the third or fourth time around

no longer tugging at my heart.

This dance of yours

getting close and drifting away

and drifting away and getting close

has long run the course.

I have grown oh so weary

of providing amusement for

your boring domestic life

being the lady in waiting

for your attention.

Now that our story is done

there is no reason to speak

you can take your leave

go create new tales to tell.

Sharp and straight to the point! I see a very brave woman out there using her powerful words to shoo the monster, if I may say.

      Good hub! Way to go!

Very empowering poem you've written. Life is too short to put up with this nonsense. I feel bad for the next victim of his games.

Thanks ashelladyhawke. It is hard but sometimes you just got to tell people where to go.

In the words of my daughter's generation: You go girl. Spare no thought but exactly what you feel. By doing so, you're breaking the circle. And that is not necessarily a bad thing. Sometimes it can be the best thing you'll ever do for yourself. Been there, done that so yeah definitely you go girl. Wish they had a thoughtful button up there with the interesting, useful, funny buttons so thumbs up and great thoughtful poem. Look to see more.
