Our Unknown Destiny
Born of our own fathers, that of our own constitution,
This was so, to follow winning, of our independence.
Our Nation's true fate, the success of all of its affairs,
The people's rights did so depend on its attendance.
The founding author's wanted the best for this nation,
They all made certain that it was just, its presentation.
It guaranteed the freedoms, all to us each are so vital,
Every school child may repeat each one in their recital.
In the course of human events, a new government, instituted,
Derived powers from consent of those governed. was rooted.
Washington, Jefferson. Hamilton, Franklin, all played key roles,
Our signers had a new country's best interest at heart, all goals.
As time has moved on, these just rights have been tested,
All have proved sturdy enough, for in the heart are vested.
Now comes the time when all's freedoms to seem unsure,
As though we've strayed away from best precepts, so pure.
The new state of affairs, a just governing, is now questionable,
Leadership seems self-centered, leaving all so inapprehensible.
A refusal in answering vital questions makes reason debatable,
As new rules to evolve overnight seems to render all incapable.
