Our Willow

Updated on June 7, 2013

Through a breeze quite cool and over a hill quite steep

Sits a Willow quite welcoming where the Day and Night meet

You can look if you want - but only a few ever do find

The story of the Willow is twisted lost floating through time

At first you hear it’s gigantic with branches all around

But some they say tiny, couldn't be any closer to the ground

Now I know how big it is and all I can say is it’s a matter of sight

The Willow can only be seen where your heart puts the light

It's dark where you can't see and sight is not one - but two

Sight is more like music if - oh if only they knew

At the base of our Willow is a tunnel to the other side

Crazy I know, but wasn't the sea before you felt the tide?

The hole is deep and dark; many have gotten lost there before

But I promise you'll promise to love what's in store

This Willow, our Willow, isn't just what it seems

Our Willow is the door way to the entrance of our dreams

For our Willow is different to all that we already know

Fiction turn fiction - but what side of the tree do you show?

But like all sea bearing lost Fairytales we once knew to be true

Our Willow remembers all times gone by - all the love that we knew

Let its branches grow up while its roots plummet down

To the place where our answers lay all safe and sound

Because magic was an idea because it gave birth to everything it means

Only you can grow your Willow and give home to all of your dreams

I like the symbolism you used. Trees and fairy tales go well together.

I love Willow trees and had climbed many as a child. Your title is what drew me in. Thank for the fanciful dream through such a wonderful thought as a Willow tree. : ) Voted it up!

Absolutely beautiful. What an enjoyable read. I felt like I was sitting under the willow as well. :)
