Over The Moon - You Lost Your Turn
Another day ticks by……..and you’re out of my life,
No more waiting and wondering, I’m minus the strife.
I hit the delete button and erased you today,
My hands at the keyboard, I have more to say.
The scary part was it was so easy to do,
Divorcing myself from the emotional zoo.
Remorse didn’t happen, only a second of tears,
Thanks for the strength to face my own fears.
It’s not in your heart or even in your mind……
Logic reminds me you should be more kind.
The moments we shared were equally divine……
but your absence was really the immediate sign.
My eyes now wide open, my mind cleared of the fog,
Do I only have my heart to blame when my heads in a bog?
No, it takes two to tango, but only one to deceive….
You played your hand open; funny I’m somehow relieved.
They say in Alaska, be careful what you reap,
you might find someone telling you to just take a leap.
But further than that, you’ll realize quite soon,
“You’ve lost your turn” sailor, and I’m over the moon.
