POETRY- A DEDICATION TO MOTHERS

Updated on July 22, 2012

You have loved me unconditionally

Even before I was born

And all these years later

You still keep my heart warm

You always put me first

Always at the top of your list

We've had our ups and downs

Great memories I will miss

And they were a few times

We didn't see eye to eye

But I know that your intentions

Were to teach me wrong from right

I know you gave it your all

I'm proud that your my mother

Cause when it comes to you

There could never be another

Please know that I carry you

Where ever I wonder and go

You made me who I am

This person, this heart and soul

I hope I have made you proud

Still time to make the memories

I just want you to know

How much you mean to me

I am very appreciative

All the sacrifices you have made

There was no stopping you

From putting a smile upon my face

Dear mother I would be nothing

You me me into who I am

And to think it all started

The moment I touched your hands

I know that I have been blessed

And I will always try

To be there every time you need me

Like this shadow by your side

ABOUT THE POEM

I have been blessed to have such a special mother in my life. She inspires me to be a better father, son, and friend. My mother has been my best friend through it all, good and bad. She has never turned on me and she has always loved me unconditionally. Take the time to call your mother and tell her how much she means to you. Let her know today because we are not granted tomorrow. Take the time to show your mother that you love her and tell her thanks for all she has done. You can share this dedication poem with anyone that you wish. You can use it in any way. God Bless.

You are, indeed, blessed, as was I until 2003 when mine died. Great mothers like ours are to be treasured.

WOW! I am so sorry I can't keep up with you all. Truly, from the bottom of my heart, thank you all for your kind words, comments, time, and appreciation. I hope others will share this and if someone can use it, I hope it brings their mom much happiness. For those of you that lost your mother, I am deeply sorry. I couldn't imagine losing mine. It is something I will have to go through one day. I just want her to know how much I love and appreciate her. Once again, thank you all. Take care:)

thelyricwriter...beautifully written poem..you did your Mother proud. You are very lucky to have had a mother who made you feel special, but alas not all are so lucky.

Just giving birth is not enough to make someone a mother, it is a special gift that comes from the heart...loved the poem..as usual the depth of your soul shines through each word....thank you for the share....

I always admire people who are able to write poetry. Although I've never tried I can bet that my poetry would be similar to that of a "Green Eggs & Ham" story". Voted Beatuiful!
