The Beginning

On July 7, 2007 at 7:07p.m in South Philadelphia, was the ugliest, painful but beautiful experience I ever had at age 20. It all started when I was sitting on my neighbor's step playing cards with a couple of rebellious friends smoking cigarettes on the corner of Beechwood Street; except Shanika. Shanika was a real Christian woman. She was the most beautiful and intelligent woman I've ever met in my life. Although she was my best friend since age 10 we've never dated because she always thought of me as brother instead of her boyfriend. My family loved this woman because they believe that she would inspire me to start living right for God. Even while playing cards she was still preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ to me and the rest of my rebellious friends but we jokingly acted as if we were filled with the Holy Spirit.

The Tradegy

Within 10 seconds after blowing my last smoke, I felt a heaviness in my chest. The dark clouds started to roam in the sky as if it was about to rain. With no warning sign, I felt someone push me to the ground from behind. My stomach dropped and fear shook my spirit with great force as I heard loud screams and multiple gunshots as the tires of the car screeching down the road. Although my eyes were closed and body still on the ground I can feel the vibration of the concrete of people running and shells hitting the ground. I can hear chaotic people shouting, "CALL 9-1-1!!" I wanted to get up and run but I felt like I couldn't move until I heard someone gasping for air. As I got up off from the ground slowly with my heart pumping and my legs shaking tremendously, I saw my best friend Shanika stretch out on the ground with blood leaking out of her chest and sides. I rushed to her side and fell to my knees with her head resting on my arms shouting, "SOMEONE HELP HER!! PLEASE! CALL THE AMBULANCE!" I looked around and saw none of my friends around; except for the many eyes staring in my direction and others on their cell phones calling for help. Everything happen so fast but yet my whole world was moving in slow motion. Seven minutes later the police and ambulance arrived to the scene and I felt her spirit leaving her body. I cried and screamed hysterically as if knives was being pierced in every single part of my body while being left in the pool of acid trying to swim to safety. As one of the cops help me up from the ground trying to calm me down, I instantly fell in a deep sleep.

The Vision And Revelation

Instantly I awoke in the rainy night outside of Jerusalem on the hill of Golgotha feeling fearful because there before me was a man who look like a creature on the cross that was not of this world. His deformed figure face, ripped flesh, skeleton-like, and bloody pulp man force me to hide my face because the sight of him was unbearable. Then the angel of the Lord touched me and said, "Do not fear" and instantly I felt a wave of calmness run through me. Instantly, I heard the voice of the man on the cross say, "You know nothing of pain. I carried the whole world on my back as they curse my name. I was brutally beaten and whipped so many times that the meat on my back hangs from my bones. They put crowns of thorns on my head til it pierced my skull. You know nothing of pain til you feel nails get hammered through your hands and feet. I'm dehydrated and in excruciating pain. Every time I gasp for air the pain increase and being hung naked in humiliation as I hear my mother cry. You know nothing of pain til the people you love becomes your worst enemy. All the great miracles I've done for them it's like they don't even remember me. I died for the world that they might have eternal life. I know about the dark clouds in the sky and the tears in your eyes, but weeping may endure for a night but rejoicing comes in the morning. You feel like you can't make it because your friend buried, but I knew you before you were born so I wouldn't give you burdens you couldn't carry. You are healed now, so go tell the world what you have seen.
