Painted smile

Updated on September 2, 2011

Painted Smile

Please can I touch you,
I promise not to make you cry,
I just want to hold your hand,
Take a step with me.........light your smile,
wipe away your tears and we will try,

I saw you on a lonely corner,
face upturned toward the rain,
I saw the anguish in your eyes,
I felt the coldness of your painted smile,
I saw the river take your pain,

Then I took you in my arms,
sat you high upon a tree,
I made the stars fall like snow,
I knew that now without your tears,
you atlast you could fly free.
