Pallid Monroe

Updated on January 17, 2012

I watch as if she's sleeping
It came with no surprise death reaping
A soul so tame and transparent reflected
The demons stored within held and protected

Once upon a time full of life and love
Now casted by her own damnation never again above
She roamed the gravel beneath her soles
Like a prisoner they held captive and controlled

A femme that once was now isn't
Her heart loathed and fostered torment
A creation molded by the inferno below
Beauty and charm she possessed a perfect Monroe

A cavity was set for her heart made of glass
Her breath deadly made of poisonous gas
She pierced happiness with just a look
A caress of her hand, your life she took

Beauty in motion, expressive and classic. I loved each word, your an artist at work and I admire whatever you scribe, brilliant. I must remember to never let her caress my hand.Voted Up, awesome and beautiful as always.

      Vivid and powerfully worded

One of your best rhyming poems, in my opinion.

Creative use of rhyming and words. I am impressed, and miss you on Hubpages, Belly Bell Bel

This is really amazing work Bella. Imagery is very good here. The part that struck me most is "once upon a time filled with love now casted by her own damnation".

Your poetry is always creative and imaginative. I love how you put great effort into your work and you take poetry serious. I love reading our poetry. You are a voice with something important to say... I wish more could hear you... and read you. :)

If words could speak themselves, they would applaud at your ability to mimic their own voices- that's poetry in response to poetry.

Thumbs up bella...always my favorite, female version
