Personal Demons

Updated on February 13, 2017

I'm wide awake, looking to the skies,
But all these things play behind my eyes.
No, not a night but a day-mare,
I wanna say it... but nothing in life is fair.

Not even in sleep can I dream.

These regrets I've promised not to keep,
Produce themselves as silent screams.
In my thoughts these terrors seep,
Not even in sleep can I dream.

This is the kind of silence I pray for,
When the devil stops knocking on my door.
And only my own personal demons remain,
I close my eyes as they laugh at my pain.

Not even in sleep can I dream.

These regrets I've promised not to keep,
Produce themselves as silent screams.
In my thoughts these terrors seep,
Not even in sleep can I dream.

You may say these things define me,
But I say they just excite my insanity.
Let the blood splatter where it may,
My demons and I am having a good day.

Picture I photoshopped of myself in my Halloween Costume.
