Play It By The Book

Updated on October 16, 2011

Play It By The Book

In this modern day of living everywhere you look

To be successful you've got to play it by the book.

Everything comes with instructions whatever you do.

To be successful in life  you must follow through.

You must take it and study, don't leave it on the shelf.

Better use instructions if you want to better yourself.

Life's greatest gifts come from the book  you choose,

And if you choose God's Holy Book you can't lose.

Though it may be  ancient in years it's still true today  ,

If you take time to study the rules the book does say ,

You can't go wrong if you hold to the Author's Hand.

In prayer He'll clear it up , what you don't understand.

Truly the greatest ,it's the best that money can't buy.

He will teach you to live and then prepare you to die

I know it will seem strange but His Gift of life is free,

But Jesus went ahead and bought it for you and me.

He'll keep you in this chaotic world of sin and strife

The instructions are clear in God's Book Of Life.

And when life is over there is a better Home Above

Follow His instruction for  this Eternal Life of Love.

***********************************************************

Sometimes we wonder how people got so far

away from God and all of His Laws.God always

did the best for the people but they were never

satisfied. I  guess they thought they knew better

than The Lord Himself.Today it would truly take

a miracle to get them back on solid ground, but

God makes miracles all of the time, so if we are

true to Him and pray for the lost, at this late  hour

they could repent  and God would forgive but they

had better hurry , The hour is late!

Hi clara kish:) it's a little preachy for my taste, but the message is clear. It's funny though, because I wrote a similar poem about where you draw the line. It was more psychological than scriptural, but a similar message. Thanks. GBY:)
