Please God Help The Children

Updated on June 12, 2012

Some children cannot walk, no matter how hard they try.

Please God, help the children.

Some children cannot talk, no matter how hard they try.

Please God, help the children.

Some children cannot look at anyone's eyes.

Please God, help the Children.

Some children feel so alone, they are in a box.

Please God, help the children.

You have the power to change the world in wonderful ways, so please God, help the children.

Thank you Laura. I am looking forward to reading your hub. As you probably already know this hub is about my daughter and children like her. Thank you for putting it on your facebook wall. That means a lot to me.

What a beautiful poem, prayer, supplication from your heart. Prayer is SO POWERFUL, we need to pray constantly...especially for our children and for world peace. Voted up and beautiful! Blessings, Sparklea :)

Your poem expresses the thoughts and prayers of so many of us as parents and grandparents of beautiful children with problems.

teaches thank you for your comment, what you have said is true, we must stand up for their rights. They need us to do that. They deserve much more then we give them.

My heart echos your post writing. With so many children being victimized these days, it is so hard to keep a dry eye when thinking about these dear sweet innocent babies. As you say, they cannot talk, it the adults who must stand for their rights. Great poem!

      Michele,

I do not read a lot of poetry, because sometimes the meaning is to obscure. This is one poem I will remember. It is a beautiful prayer. Thank you for sharing it with us.

      Have a good day.

      Larry

Too many wholesome and decent things are leaving this country. At least we still have wonderful people with hearts like yours :)

Thank you for your comment Damiendarby. It is up to us. I wrote this because I have a child with a high level of Autism. I took her to a riding stable for horseback riding therapy. I had been riding horses since I was about 9 years old, so I volunteered there. Some time ago, state funding was cut and the stables had to close. That is what I was thinking about when I wrote this poem. The children loved the horses so much, but no one would help keep the stables open. Ok, I need to stop now. Thank you for your comment.

Great poem; passionate and genuine. However, God isn't helping any children, that is left up to us and as a species we are not doing such a bang up job.
