A Dreamer's Dream [Poem]

Updated on June 4, 2015
The darkness still remains
The darkness still remains

I wrote this short poem "A Dreamer's Dream" in 1996 after reading 'A Dream within a Dream' by Edgar Allan Poe poetry. Once I had discovered such a universally talented poet, I wanted to create my own words and lyrics on paper.

A Dreamer's Dream

-

Sitting in my bed

dreaming of those who dreamt,

the darkness still remains

-

My eyes are bleeding tears

for the meadows so sincere,

while my jet plane flies away

-

Silence is the void

to which I stand alone

My mind lingers in a cloud

Where superior dreams are known

-

Seeing is believing

Wishing is good thinking

A dreamer's dream for two

The reality is me and you

-

      Beautiful. My favorite is

      "Seeing is believing

      Wishing is good thinking

      but to have you-

      I would give almost anything"

      Well done! :)

Nice - I kinda tripped over 'longest lengths' but it does in fact work nicely - feels like it might be a song :)

      Hello, Nicky,

      Today is Nov. 9, 2011, 2:24 p.m./cst...sun is shining.

I LOVED THIS HUB. YOUR talent for poetry is staggering to my imagination. And I am NOT just wasting space. YOU are GOOD! Voted Up and everything but funny. I didn't detect any humor in this sensitive, soul-touching hub. And in closing, I am honored to be a follower. Sincerely, Kenneth Avery, from Hamilton, a rural town in northwest Alabama that looks like the sweet town, Mayberry, on the Andy Griffith Show. Peace and keep in touch!

Hello, Nicky! I had to reread this marvelous hub once more. You are an amazing writer--one who can easily move hearts and emotions with one stroke of your pen. This is not a gift to be taken lightly, Nicky. Just use it to bring happiness to others, as well as yourself. And there is NO contact Nicky on your profile so I am leaving my Note of Appreciation for Following Me here, if that's okay. Please, let me hear from you often. And I will respond promptly. Sincerely, KENNETH

A Special Hello to My New Creative Writer Friend, Nicky Page (love that name). I am GLAD that you are in my world. Just don’t be too bored with my hubs. Write me anytime. I love to hear about what my friends are doing. And now, YOUR Note of Thanks . . .I would like to offer YOU My SINCERE THANK YOU for following me. I am very new to Hubs. Honestly, I TRULY VALUE my followers and I shall NOT take YOUR Warm Gesture for granted. I will also write hubs that will be educational, entertaining, a bit dramatic and many times funny. But NOT negative, abusive, or demeaning. If at any time my hubs offend or upset you, simply tell ME, before anyone else, and I will remedy the situation pronto. Again, THANK YOU! Sincerely, Kenneth, (my real name. I didn’t know that we could use catchy titles.

-What does that 'jet plane' symbol stand for? Is that travel; or is that the power to move freely?

Very interesting poem dear Nicky Page!

      Lovely and awesome..
